Die Zeitung deren zentrale Rolle die eines Informationsgeber und Botschaftsträgers darstellt arbeitet seit jeher nicht nur mit dem Medium der Schrift sondern verstärkt sie auch mit Bildern und Illustrationen. Bei vielen Zeitungen findet man heutzutage ein Hauptaugenmerk auf die Bildsprache. Das zentrale Thema der Arbeit „simply simplification“ ist es, eben diese gegenständlich figurative Botschaft herauszuarbeiten. Die Reduktion auf die Sprache der Bilder und deren Wirkung steht im Vordergrund. Unterstützt werden sie mit der Headline oder Teile von dieser.

Die „Hürriyet“ als eine der grössten Tageszeitungen innerhalb der Türkei und die meist verbreitetste türkische Tageszeitung ausserhalb des Landes legt einen starken Fokus auf die Bildsprache. 
Bei dem Projekt „simply simplification“ wurde die Fronseiten der Tageszeitung Hürriyet mit einem Schwerpunkt auf deren verwendete Bilder genauer betrachtet. Die Titelseiten sind Teilweise stark auf bildliche darstellung der information gerichtet und wirken dadurch oft mehr emotional als informativ weswegen sich bei der „Hürriyet“ der Betrachter seine eigene Vervollständigung hinzufügen muss.
Dieser einfache Information Vermittlung kennt man aus den bereich der Cartoons, Comics und karikative Darstellungen. Im Comic überschneidet sich Literatur mit bildender Kunst indem Bilder gezeichnet werden und mit Texten oder Dialoge kombiniert werden. Es ist ein Irrtum zu glauben, das Comics zwangsweise komisch sein müssen deshalb wurde auch der neutralere Begriff „sequenzielle Kunst“ für sie eingeführt (Berühmte Beispiele sind u.a. . Art Spiegelman „Maus – Die Geschichte eines Überlebenden“ (1992) und Marjane Satrapi „Persepolis“ (2007).

Wie Tageszeitungen vermitteln auch Comichefte Informationen und erzeugen eine ästhetische Wirkung beim Betrachter. Für die Arbeit „simply simplification“ wurden vor allem Titelseiten ausgewählt die einen noch stärkeren Fokus auf Emotionen und Bilder legen als gewöhnlich.

Das KünsterInnenduo Peligro schafft es mit ihrer Arbeit „simply simplification“ zwei Ansätze experimentell zu kombinieren und die Grenzen der Wahrnehmungen zu vermischen. Die Tageszeitung wird zum Kunstobjekt und die Botschaft bleibt wie bei der Zeitung selbst dem Betrachter/Leser überlassen. Es wird nicht diktiert sondern zitiert.

The newspaper whose central role is those of an information carrier and message medium always explains itself not only with the medium of writing but also adds it with the medium of pictures and illustrations.
Nowadays in many newspapers one finds a main attention to the picture language. The central topic of the work “simply simplification” is to work out this concrete figurative message. The reduction in the visual language and their message comes to the fore. It becomes supported with the headline or parts of this.

The “Hürriyet” as one of the biggest daily newspapers in Turkey and the most published Turkish newspaper off the country sets strong values on the picture language. At the work „simply simplification“ the front pages of the daily newspaper „Hürriyet“ with a focus on their used pictures were more precisely observed. The front pages are partly strong oriented on graphical representation of the information. Thereby they often affect more emotionally than informative why the viewer has to add his own complement at the „Hürriyet“. This simple information brokering is well known by the domain of cartoons, comics and caricatural illustrations.

In comics literature overlaps with fine arts while pictures are drawn and combined with words or dialogues. A mistake is to believe that comics are compulsory funny therefore the more neutral term “sequential art ” was introduced for them. (Famous examples are among other things: Art Spiegelman: “The Complete Maus: A Survivor’s Tale.” (1992) & Marjane Satrapi: “Persepolis” (2007).

Like newspapers comics also convey information and generate an aesthetic impression by the viewer. For the work “simply simplification” mainly front pages were chosen whose focus is more intense on emotions and pictures than usually.

With their work “simply simplification” the artist collective Peligro recreates to combine two experiemental appendage by mixing the limits of perceptions. The newspaper becomes an art object and leaves the message to the viewer / reader like in the work “simply simplification”. It ain’t dictated, just quoted.
